Wilmington Police Investigating Fatal Shooting on Minnow Way

Wilmington, NC — A tragic shooting on Saturday evening has left one man dead and a community reeling, as the Wilmington Police Department (WPD) continues its investigation into the incident. Just after 5 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Minnow Way following reports of an altercation involving gunfire.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Robert Sessoms, was found suffering from critical gunshot wounds. Despite their best efforts and the rapid response of EMS, Sessoms succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter.
