Violent Disturbance in Kingsbury, Texas Leads to SWAT Standoff and Arrests
KINGSBURY, Texas — A harrowing scene unfolded late Monday night in the quiet community of Kingsbury, Texas, when a violent domestic disturbance escalated into a multi-agency law enforcement operation that ended with two men in custody and a woman hospitalized.
On June 23, 2025, at approximately 11:25 PM, the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a physical disturbance at a residence in the 200 block of Kristine Lane. Responding deputies were joined by a Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden, who assisted in the initial effort to secure the scene.
Upon arrival, first responders encountered a chaotic and dangerous situation. An adult female victim was found severely beaten, having suffered significant injuries as a result of the altercation. She was immediately provided emergency aid and transported to the Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, where she is currently receiving treatment. Her condition has not been publicly disclosed, but authorities confirm that the injuries were serious and required urgent medical attention.
Meanwhile, two adult male suspects, later identified as Paul Aguilar and Andrew Gutierrez, had barricaded themselves inside the home, refusing to come out or cooperate with authorities. Given the potential threat and the suspects’ refusal to surrender, the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s SWAT Team was activated and deployed to the location.
What followed was a tense and lengthy standoff lasting several hours into the early morning. SWAT officers established a perimeter, and trained negotiators worked persistently to de-escalate the situation. Thankfully, after prolonged communication efforts, both suspects ultimately surrendered peacefully, and no further injuries occurred during the resolution of the standoff.
Following the arrests:
-
Paul Aguilar was found to have an active warrant for Family Violence Assault unrelated to this incident. He was also charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member for his role in Monday night’s events.
-
Andrew Gutierrez faces the more serious charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, indicating the use or threat of a weapon during the altercation.
Both men were transported and booked into the Guadalupe County Adult Detention Facility, where they await further legal proceedings. No bond information has been released at this time.
The incident has deeply shaken the Kingsbury community, a typically peaceful rural town in Guadalupe County. Authorities are emphasizing the importance of community vigilance and encouraging residents to report any signs of domestic violence or escalating disputes to law enforcement immediately.
Sheriff’s officials have praised the coordinated response of all agencies involved, including the SWAT team, negotiators, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, whose warden was among the first to respond. Their collaboration ensured that a potentially deadly situation was resolved without additional violence.
As the investigation continues, the Sheriff’s Office has not released the name of the victim out of respect for her privacy and ongoing recovery. Officials have indicated that victim support services have been offered to assist her in the aftermath of this traumatic event.
Anyone with additional information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office.
This violent and disturbing episode serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by domestic violence and the critical importance of early intervention. The Guadalupe County community now looks to justice for the victim and healing for all those affected.
