ATMORE, AL — June 25, 2025 — A 22-year-old man from Evergreen, Tyler Hall, has been arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder following a double shooting in Atmore that resulted in the death of 17-year-old Gabriel Hooks and left a 20-year-old woman wounded.

What Happened?

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were alerted to gunshot victims arriving at Atmore Community Hospital around 1:50 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24. Upon investigation, 17-year-old Gabriel Hooks succumbed to gunshot injuries at the hospital, while a 20-year-old woman was treated for non‑life‑threatening wounds and later transferred to a trauma center.

Tyler Hall was arrested later the same day and booked into the Escambia County Detention Center. He now faces one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.
