Two Dead, Two Injured After Stabbing at Detroit Airbnb Pool Party

A pool party at an Airbnb rental on Detroit’s east side turned deadly late Saturday night when a violent stabbing left two people dead and two others injured.

According to Detroit police, the incident occurred at a home on Fleming Street, near East Seven Mile Road and Conant Street. Investigators say a large group had gathered for a party when an altercation broke out, quickly escalating into violence.

Authorities confirmed that four people were stabbed during the confrontation. Two victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while two others were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not been released.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot before police arrived. No arrests have been made, and detectives are actively searching for the individual responsible.

Residents in the neighborhood described hearing loud music and commotion earlier in the evening before the chaos erupted. Many expressed shock that such extreme violence could happen in what began as a festive summer gathering.

Details about what sparked the stabbing remain unclear. Police have not disclosed whether the victims and suspect knew each other or if the attack was random. The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the deceased, while investigators interview witnesses and review possible security camera footage from the area.

The tragic incident highlights ongoing concerns over short-term rental properties in Detroit, with some community members noting that large parties can sometimes draw trouble. City officials have previously discussed potential regulations to address disturbances and safety risks linked to unregulated gatherings.

Detroit police are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers of Michigan.

For now, a community is left grieving the loss of two lives that were taken far too soon, while hoping justice will be served for the victims and their families.
