Tuscaloosa Woman, Marchema Deshannon Williams, Killed in Early Morning Crash on Queen City Avenue

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Friday morning crash in Tuscaloosa has left one woman dead and another driver injured, following a violent collision at the intersection of Queen City Avenue and 15th Street.

Authorities said the crash happened at approximately 7:13 a.m. on September 12. According to the Tuscaloosa Police Department, 44-year-old Marchema Deshannon Williams was driving south on Queen City Avenue when her vehicle was struck on the passenger side by an eastbound car traveling along 15th Street.

The impact forced Williams’s vehicle across the curb and into the parking lot of an O’Reilly Auto Parts store, where it collided with an unoccupied car. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, and both Williams and the other driver were taken to DCH Regional Medical Center. Tragically, Williams later succumbed to her injuries, while the other driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances of the crash, including traffic signals, speed, and other potential contributing factors. At this time, no charges have been filed, and the case remains under review by the Tuscaloosa Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit.
