Trinity School Community Mourns the Tragic Loss of Beloved Student Lauren Souza
Manchester, NH — With profound sadness and heavy hearts, the Trinity High School and broader Catholic school community are mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Lauren Souza, a cherished student, friend, and leader, who tragically passed away in a single motor vehicle accident early Sunday morning.
Lauren’s death has sent shockwaves through the halls of Trinity High School and the hearts of everyone who had the blessing of knowing her. She was not just a student—Lauren was a bright light, a compassionate soul, and a powerful force of kindness who impacted our schools far beyond academics. Her loss is deeply felt by classmates, teachers, coaches, and the entire community who now must face the unimaginable absence of someone so full of promise and joy.
Lauren, along with her two sisters, began their educational journey at St. Catherine’s of Siena Elementary School, continuing on to St. Joseph’s Junior High School, and eventually becoming a proud member of the Trinity High School Pioneers. Her presence in each of these schools was more than memorable—it was transformative.
In every classroom she entered, Lauren left behind a legacy of excellence. She was an outstanding student, known for her diligence, her love of learning, and her natural leadership. Outside the classroom, she was equally influential—participating in clubs, school activities, and volunteer efforts with a sense of purpose and grace well beyond her years.
“Lauren brought so much joy and love to all of us,” wrote Nate Stanton, President of Trinity High School and St. Joseph Junior High School. “She was an exceptional student who had such an amazing and everlasting impact in our community, both in and out of the classroom.”
What truly set Lauren apart, however, was her spirit. She was someone who could light up a room with her smile and make others feel seen and heard. Her friends describe her as “the kind of person who always lifted others up,” and her teachers speak of her with admiration, respect, and a sense of loss that words can scarcely describe.
In the wake of this tragedy, the outpouring of support has been overwhelming. Messages of love, comfort, and prayer have flowed in from alumni, local parishes, school families, and community leaders. Grief counselors and pastoral staff are available on campus this week to help students and faculty navigate this difficult time together.
For Lauren’s family—especially her sisters who shared so many of these formative experiences alongside her—the community’s prayers and support are a small but heartfelt source of strength.
“We are grateful for your continued prayers for Lauren, her family, and our school community,” Mr. Stanton said.
In the coming days, more information will be shared about services and memorial arrangements as they are made available. The school will ensure students and families are informed of opportunities to come together in remembrance of Lauren—to honor her life, celebrate her spirit, and support one another through the profound grief of this loss.
Though her time with us was tragically short, Lauren Souza’s impact will remain forever etched into the fabric of Trinity High School and the hearts of everyone who walked beside her. She was the embodiment of faith, love, and resilience—and she will never be forgotten.
