Around noon, authorities responded to reports of a person jumping from the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge. Upon recovering the body, the individual was identified as 45-year-old Caleb Smith. Subsequently, police visited a residence on Fair Street to notify next of kin. There, they discovered the body of 37-year-old Kaleigh Griffin, who had suffered fatal stab wounds. Investigators believe Smith fatally stabbed his wife before taking his own life by jumping from the bridge .​
