Tragic Motorcycle Crash in Beacon Falls Claims Life of Naugatuck Teen
BEACON FALLS, CT — A young motorcyclist from Naugatuck lost his life Friday morning following a collision with an SUV in Beacon Falls, according to state police.
Ethan Dane Viele, 19, was pronounced dead after a crash that occurred just before noon on Beacon Valley Road. Authorities responded to the scene at approximately 11:52 a.m., near 194 Beacon Valley Road, following reports of a car versus motorcycle accident.
Preliminary details from the Connecticut State Police indicate that a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a Naugatuck resident, was traveling east on Beacon Valley Road, roughly one-tenth of a mile east of the intersection with Beacon Manner Road. At the same time, Viele was operating his motorcycle westbound along the same stretch of road.
According to the investigation, the motorcycle “encroached into the eastbound travel lane and impacted” the Tahoe. The collision caused Viele to be ejected from his motorcycle. Emergency responders rushed him to the hospital, but he was later pronounced dead.
