The Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) formally identified Eleanor Doney as the victim earlier this week, and her family has since issued a heartfelt public statement:

“We are asking the public to use the social media space to remember Eleanor and not to speculate or share images of the accused,” DRPS stated. “Instead, we urge anyone with videos or information that may aid the investigation to turn them over to police.”
