Tragedy Strikes Macon: Three Dead, Multiple Injured in Mass Shooting at Midtown Daiquiri Bar & Grill
MACON, GA — A night meant for leisure and gathering turned into a scene of unspeakable violence early Sunday morning as a mass shooting erupted at the Midtown Daiquiri Bar & Grill, located at 4376 Log Cabin Drive. Authorities from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident just after 12:00 a.m., where chaos and heartbreak awaited.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered multiple individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical responders quickly began triaging victims on the scene, transporting several by ambulance to nearby medical facilities. In the confusion, others were rushed to hospitals in private vehicles, as bystanders and friends scrambled to help in the face of fear and confusion.
Tragically, three men were pronounced dead at the scene by Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, whose presence underscored the scale of the tragedy. The victims have been identified as:
-
Jedarrius Meadows Jr., 28
-
Javonta Faulks, 32
-
Javarsia Meadows, 24
All three were local residents, and their deaths have sent shockwaves throughout the Macon community. Coroner Jones confirmed that next of kin have been notified, and the Sheriff’s Office is working closely with the families to provide support.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has launched a full-scale investigation into the shooting. At this time, no suspects have been identified and no motive has been made public. Investigators are interviewing witnesses, collecting surveillance footage, and following all available leads to piece together the sequence of events that led to this devastating loss of life.
“Any loss of life is tragic, but the scale of violence seen in this incident is deeply disturbing,” said one Bibb County official. “We are committed to uncovering the truth and holding those responsible accountable.”
Community leaders, clergy, and advocates are calling for peace and unity as the city reels from the violence. A growing memorial of candles and flowers has been placed outside the bar, with loved ones of the victims sharing memories, tears, and quiet prayers for healing and justice.
Friends and relatives of the victims have expressed profound grief and disbelief. Jedarrius and Javarsia Meadows, believed to be brothers or close relatives, were described as “kind, loyal, and full of life.” Javonta Faulks, at 32, was said to be a hard-working individual who loved music and family. None of the men expected their night — or lives — to end this way.
“Our hearts are broken,” said a family member, who asked for privacy as they grieve. “These were young men with families, with dreams. This is a nightmare.”
As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously to MaconsBibbCrimestoppers.com or by calling (478) 751-7500.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has increased patrols in the area and is working with local businesses and community organizations to provide reassurance and maintain public safety in the wake of the incident.
While the city of Macon mourns, one thing remains clear: the pain of losing three lives in an act of senseless violence will not be forgotten — nor will the push for justice waver. In the days and weeks ahead, the community will grieve, remember, and demand answers.
