GREENVILLE, S.C. — A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Haywood Mall, one of Greenville’s busiest shopping destinations, where authorities confirmed that a person died from a suspected suicide. The Greenville Police Department responded to the scene after receiving reports of a gunshot inside the mall during the evening hours.
According to police, officers arrived at Haywood Mall shortly after receiving an emergency call and located an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The individual was declared deceased at the scene. Investigators believe, based on initial evidence, that the wound was self-inflicted, and that no foul play or danger to the public is suspected at this time.
The name, age, and gender of the deceased have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
