RONCEVERTE, W.Va. – Authorities in Greenbrier County have confirmed that a man is in custody in connection with a deadly attack and serious assault that took place Tuesday on Morgan Cemetery Road near Ronceverte. The incident has left one woman dead and a man critically injured, prompting a multi-agency response and an ongoing investigation.
The Initial Call and Scene Discovery
Deputies with the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported disturbance at a residence on Morgan Cemetery Road. Upon arrival, deputies observed a man in a white SUV attempting to leave the area.
Sheriff’s officials said the suspect initially complied when officers stopped his vehicle but quickly fled when ordered to exit. One deputy pursued the fleeing suspect, while another remained on the property to investigate the disturbance.
At the home, the deputy discovered a harrowing scene: a man lying partially beneath a camper, suffering from severe injuries. Emergency medical services were immediately dispatched to provide life-saving aid. Inside the residence, deputies located a deceased woman in a bed with visible traumatic injuries.

The coordinated effort led to the safe apprehension of the suspect, identified as Micheal Eugene Loudermilk Jr.
Loudermilk was transported to the Southern Regional Jail (SRJ), where he is currently being held without bond.
Victim Identities
The Greenbrier County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased woman as Quailynn Bass, 36, of Florida. Preliminary findings indicate that she suffered fatal blunt force trauma, though an official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner’s office following a full autopsy.
The injured man has been identified as Brian Loudermilk, 52, of Greenbrier County. He was transported to a regional trauma center, where he remains under medical care. His injuries, consistent with blunt force trauma, are described as severe but survivable.

The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Team spent several hours at the property, meticulously gathering evidence and documenting the scene. Investigators also executed search warrants on both the suspect’s vehicle and residence to collect additional evidence that may shed light on the circumstances leading up to the violence.
Sheriff’s officials confirmed that Deputy B. Walls has been assigned as the lead investigator in the case.
