Shreveport Woman Identified as Victim in Fatal Drive-By Shooting

SHREVEPORT, La. — Authorities have identified the victim of a deadly drive-by shooting late Monday night on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive as 28-year-old Labriesha Patterson, according to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office.

The shooting occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on August 18, 2025, in the 1600 block of MLK Drive. Patterson was reportedly traveling northbound when individuals in a passing vehicle opened fire, striking her several times.

Emergency responders rushed Patterson to Ochsner LSU Health hospital, but despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at 11:07 p.m.

Investigation Underway

The Shreveport Police Department is leading the investigation into the shooting. Detectives are working to establish a motive, identify possible suspects, and determine whether Patterson was the intended target of the attack.

At this time, police have not released descriptions of the suspect vehicle or any potential individuals involved. An autopsy has been ordered to further assist in the investigation.
