Shooting in Klamath Falls Leaves One Injured; Suspect in Custody Following Swift Law Enforcement Response

The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident early Thursday morning in Klamath Falls that left one man injured and prompted a multi-agency response.

At approximately 4:03 AM on June 5, 2025, deputies were dispatched to the 1700 block of Gary Street in response to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered 19-year-old Kane L. Harrell, a resident of Klamath Falls, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Emergency responders immediately rendered aid, and Harrell was transported to a local medical facility for further treatment. At this time, the Sheriff’s Office has not released details about his medical condition.

In the hours following the incident, investigators worked swiftly to identify and locate the shooter. Their efforts led to the arrest of 34-year-old Taylor R. Jackson, also of Klamath Falls. Jackson was apprehended without further incident and is currently being held at the Klamath County Jail.

Jackson faces several serious charges, including:

  • Attempted Murder
  • Assault in the First Degree
  • Assault in the Second Degree
  • Unlawful Use of a Weapon
  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm

The arrest was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Klamath Falls City Police Department and Klamath County Community Corrections Officers, who supported the Sheriff’s Office in securing the scene and pursuing the suspect.
