Shelby Twp – Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing of Estranged Wife at Meijer Gas Station
Authorities in Shelby Township have confirmed that charges have been filed in connection with the fatal stabbing of a young woman outside a Meijer gas station on Hall Road Sunday evening. The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Sidney Emmanuel Davis Jr., was arraigned on first-degree premeditated murder charges at 41A District Court on Wednesday afternoon.
The Incident
Police say officers were dispatched to the Meijer gas station located at 15301 Hall Road around 5 p.m. on Sunday, where they discovered a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was immediately transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has identified the victim as 23-year-old Fatme Davis, the estranged wife of the suspect. According to investigators, the stabbing occurred during a custody exchange. Officials said the couple’s child was inside Fatme’s car at the time of the incident and may have witnessed the aftermath of the attack.
Court Proceedings
During the arraignment on Wednesday, a not guilty plea was entered on Davis Jr.’s behalf. The presiding judge denied bond, citing the severity of the allegations.
Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido released a statement condemning the act:
“The allegations in this case are both shocking and deeply disturbing. A young mother was allegedly killed at the hands of her estranged husband, while their child sat waiting in the car. Our office is committed to pursuing this case to the fullest extent of the law to ensure justice is served.”
The suspect’s next court appearance is scheduled for October 7 at 1 p.m., with a preliminary examination set for October 14 at 1 p.m.

Shelby Township Police and the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office continue to investigate the case. Authorities have not yet released further details on what may have led to the confrontation, though court records indicate that Fatme and Sidney Davis Jr. were estranged at the time of the incident.
