SALISBURY POLICE INVESTIGATE RECOVERY OF MISSING MAN’S BODY FROM WICOMICO RIVER

SALISBURY, Md. – Authorities in Salisbury are investigating after the tragic discovery of a missing man’s body in the Wicomico River on the morning of Monday, September 8, 2025.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., officers from the Salisbury Police Department, assisted by the Maryland State Police, responded to the 300 block of West Main Street following reports of a body in the water. Upon arrival, emergency personnel located an adult male who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim was later identified as 29-year-old Deaquan White, who had been reported missing on September 6, 2025. Once his identity was confirmed, detectives notified Mr. White’s family, who are now grieving the devastating loss of their loved one.

Search Efforts and Investigation

Following Mr. White’s disappearance, police launched an extensive search effort, interviewing family members and acquaintances, canvassing locations where he was last seen, and pursuing digital and communication records that might provide insight into his movements. Despite these efforts, it was not until Monday morning that his body was recovered from the Wicomico River.

His remains have been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be performed to establish the cause and manner of death. Investigators continue to look into the circumstances of how Mr. White entered the water, and whether any foul play was involved.

Community and Law Enforcement Response

The Salisbury Police Department expressed appreciation to its partner agencies, including the Maryland State Police, Salisbury Fire Department, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, for their collaboration during the investigation.

Authorities are also urging the public to come forward with any information that may shed light on the case.
