According to NJ Transit officials, the accident occurred at approximately 1:20 p.m. when a Morris & Essex Line train traveling toward Hoboken struck a pedestrian near the Summit Station. The train, which had departed Hackettstown at 11:58 a.m., was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 2:00 p.m. There were no reported injuries among the approximately 45 passengers and crew on board. Train services were temporarily suspended in both directions, causing delays of up to an hour. The incident is under investigation by NJ Transit Police.
