Ongoing Investigation: Vincent Joseph, 56, Dies Following Thibodaux Shooting and Crash — Community Urged to Assist
Lafourche Parish, LA — The community of Thibodaux is in shock following the tragic death of Vincent Joseph, age 56, who was fatally shot in a violent incident that unfolded on the evening of Tuesday, July 15, 2025. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff Craig Webre, has confirmed Joseph’s passing and assured the public that an active investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding this senseless act of violence.
At approximately 6:20 p.m., deputies responded to a report of multiple gunshots fired in the area of Lasseigne Road. When law enforcement arrived, they learned that Vincent Joseph had been shot multiple times while inside a vehicle in the vicinity. Despite his severe injuries, Joseph managed to flee the scene by vehicle. However, his attempt to escape ended tragically when he crashed into a tree near the intersection of LA Highway 308 and LA Highway 3185.
First responders, including deputies, Louisiana State Police, and local fire and emergency personnel, rushed to the scene. Joseph was transported to a nearby hospital, but despite lifesaving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
