Milwaukee Police Investigating Death of 62-Year-Old Man Beaten to Death; No Arrests Made
MILWAUKEE — Authorities are investigating after a 62-year-old man was found dead Tuesday night in what police are calling a homicide.
According to Milwaukee police, the incident occurred around 9 p.m. near the intersection of 6th Street and Clybourn. Officers were dispatched after receiving reports of an unresponsive individual. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, later identified as Randy Harvey, suffering from severe injuries consistent with blunt-force trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Harvey’s identity Wednesday morning, noting that his death was the result of a violent assault.
Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and canvass the area for potential witnesses. At this time, no arrests have been made, and police have not released information about possible suspects or a motive.
Community members expressed shock at the violent nature of the crime, especially given its location in a busy downtown corridor. Some nearby residents told reporters they were disturbed to learn of the fatal attack happening so close to home.
Milwaukee police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers, and authorities are hopeful that witness statements or surveillance footage may help lead to an arrest.
This homicide adds to a troubling trend of violent crime in the city, where officials have been working to strengthen community safety initiatives. Police emphasized that the investigation remains active and that they are committed to seeking justice for Harvey and his family.
