Michael Dutkiewicz of Warminster Arrested for Murder of Girlfriend Alyssa Rose Wiest in West Conshohocken
WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — A tragic act of domestic violence has rocked the quiet borough of West Conshohocken, as 26-year-old Michael Dutkiewicz of Warminster has been arrested and charged with the murder of his girlfriend, 25-year-old Alyssa Rose Wiest. Authorities say Wiest was shot multiple times just after midnight on May 18, 2025, in what investigators have confirmed was a fatal act of gun violence.
Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and West Conshohocken Police Chief Salvatore Carfagno announced the arrest on Sunday afternoon following a swift and coordinated homicide investigation.
The Crime Scene
At 12:25 a.m., West Conshohocken Borough Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Moorehead Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a young woman lying face down on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to her torso. She was later identified as Alyssa Rose Wiest, a resident of the same block. First responders rushed her to Lankenau Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Wiest’s residence—located just a few doors away from where her body was found—was found with its front door ajar. Investigators discovered a trail of blood extending from inside the home to the sidewalk, where the victim was found. Five bullet projectiles were recovered—some from inside the residence and others near Wiest’s body, indicating that the assault likely began inside the home and continued outside.
The Investigation
The homicide sparked an immediate joint investigation by the West Conshohocken Borough Police Department and Montgomery County Detectives. Their efforts quickly led them to identify Michael Dutkiewicz, the victim’s boyfriend of two years, as the prime suspect.
Surveillance and testimony from neighbors revealed key details. A witness reported seeing Dutkiewicz standing next to a silver Ford F-150 pickup truck immediately after the gunfire rang out. That same vehicle was then seen driving away from the scene. Investigators utilized license plate reader data, which confirmed Dutkiewicz’s truck leaving West Conshohocken and passing through nearby Conshohocken at approximately the same time the shooting was reported.
Arrest and Charges
Following the collection of forensic and digital evidence, an arrest warrant was issued for Dutkiewicz. Rather than attempting to evade capture, Dutkiewicz turned himself in at noon on Sunday to West Conshohocken Police.
He has been formally charged with the following offenses:
- First-Degree Murder
- Third-Degree Murder
- Possessing an Instrument of Crime
Dutkiewicz was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Henry J. Schireson, who denied bail—standard procedure in first-degree murder cases. The defendant is currently being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 27, 2025, before Magisterial District Judge Cathleen Kelly-Rebar.
A Community in Mourning
News of Wiest’s death has shaken her family, friends, and the greater West Conshohocken community. Described by those who knew her as a vibrant, kind, and compassionate young woman, Alyssa’s life was tragically cut short in an act of senseless violence.
