Man Dies After Truck Found Upside Down in Greene County Pond

GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. — A tragic discovery was made Saturday afternoon when a man was found dead after his truck was located upside down in a pond, according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. The victim has been identified as Frank Cremins.

Deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of Hidden Valley Lane after receiving a report of a submerged vehicle. A witness told authorities that he and his two sisters were heading to the pond to fish when they spotted a black truck overturned in the water. The witness immediately recognized the vehicle as belonging to Cremins.

Startled by the sight, the witness quickly ran back to his house to get help. Another person responded, and together they rushed into the water in an attempt to rescue Cremins. The men reported that they were unable to pry open the truck’s front doors, which were pinned underwater. However, as they searched the vehicle, they felt Cremins in the back seat.

In a desperate effort, they managed to access the rear of the truck through a window and pull Cremins from inside. Despite their quick action and determination, Cremins was unresponsive. Emergency responders were called to the scene, but tragically, he could not be revived.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office has not released details on how the crash occurred or how long the vehicle may have been in the pond before being discovered. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident, including whether medical issues, road conditions, or other factors may have contributed.

The quiet community along Hidden Valley Lane has been left shaken by the sudden loss. For those who knew Cremins, the news has been devastating. Neighbors recalled him as a hardworking and kind individual, while friends shared that he was deeply connected to his community and loved the outdoors.

Authorities are expected to provide additional updates as the investigation continues.
