Lady Lake Police Identify Man Found Deceased at Construction Site

LADY LAKE, Fla. — Authorities have confirmed the identity of the man whose body was discovered at a local construction site last week, bringing clarity to a case that had stirred concern among residents.

The Lady Lake Police Department (LLPD) announced that the deceased individual has been identified as Anthony Christopher Manfresca, 34, of Lady Lake. His body was found on Thursday, September 11, 2025, by construction crews working near tall grass in the area of County Road 466 and County Road 100 (Cherry Lake Road).

Discovery and Initial Response

According to officials, construction workers made the unsettling discovery while performing routine tasks at the site. The incident immediately prompted a police response, with detectives from LLPD arriving to secure the scene. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit was also called in to assist in processing the area and gathering evidence.

No Signs of Foul Play

Following an initial investigation in partnership with the Medical Examiner’s Office, authorities reported that there are no indications of foul play or criminal activity connected to Manfresca’s death.

Lady Lake Communications Director Elisha Pappacoda released a statement in which she reassured the community:
“After an initial investigation conducted by Lady Lake police detectives in coordination with the Medical Examiner’s Office, there are currently no indications that the death was the result of criminal activity. We want to reassure residents that there is no known threat to public safety related to this case.”

While the exact cause of death has not yet been released, an autopsy is expected to provide additional information as the investigation continues.

Community Impact

The discovery of a body at such a visible location initially raised alarm in the community, with many residents expressing concern about potential safety risks. With LLPD’s confirmation that no criminal activity is suspected, residents have expressed both relief and sympathy for the victim’s family.

Manfresca, a Lady Lake resident, was described by those who knew him as a quiet and kind individual who largely kept to himself but was always polite and respectful in his interactions. His passing has left family members and friends grappling with grief and unanswered questions.

Ongoing Investigation

Although no evidence currently suggests foul play, authorities emphasized that investigations of this nature are always treated with thoroughness and care. The Medical Examiner’s Office will continue its review to establish a definitive cause and manner of death, and additional details will be released when appropriate.

Meanwhile, LLPD has encouraged the public to remain mindful but not alarmed. “Our priority is both community safety and compassion for the family during this time,” Pappacoda said.
