Kansas City Police Investigating Fatal Shooting of 48-Year-Old Woman
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Saturday night shooting in Kansas City has left one woman dead, prompting a homicide investigation as police work to determine what led to the tragic violence.
The Shooting
According to the Kansas City Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 10:15 p.m. Saturday to the intersection of Euclid Avenue and 52nd Street after receiving reports of gunfire.
When police arrived on the scene, they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. She was unresponsive. Emergency medical services were called in, but paramedics quickly determined that she had succumbed to her injuries.
The victim has since been identified as Stephonne Jones, 48, of Kansas City.
