Juvenile Injured in Clovis McDonald’s Parking Lot Shooting: Suspect at Large
Clovis, CA – April 23, 2025
A community is shaken and a young life hangs in the balance after a juvenile was injured in a shooting that took place Wednesday evening in the parking lot of a McDonald’s located near Willow and Nees avenues in Clovis, California.
According to the Clovis Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene shortly before 9:00 p.m. following reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered a juvenile victim who had sustained at least one gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel arrived quickly and transported the injured youth to a nearby hospital for treatment. As of this report, the victim’s condition remains unknown.
The suspect, who remains at large, was last seen wearing a hoodie and all-black clothing, according to witnesses and preliminary police statements. Authorities have not released information on a possible motive or whether the victim and suspect knew one another. No further description of the suspect has been made available at this time.
Police have cordoned off the area surrounding the McDonald’s as part of an active crime scene investigation, urging all residents to avoid the vicinity while officers gather evidence and conduct interviews. Flashing patrol lights and crime scene tape now encircle a place once filled with the routine bustle of families, late-night diners, and teens grabbing snacks after school.
“This type of violence has no place in our city,” a spokesperson for the Clovis Police Department stated. “We are working diligently to identify and apprehend the suspect, and we ask anyone who may have seen something or who has any information to please come forward.”

As the investigation continues, community leaders and local residents are expressing concern over growing incidents of youth-related violence and the troubling trend of public spaces becoming crime scenes.
The Clovis Police Department is expected to release further updates as new details become available. In the meantime, families across Clovis are once again reminded of the importance of vigilance, communication, and looking out for one another—especially the youth most vulnerable to acts of senseless violence.
This is a developing story.
