ST. LOUIS, Mo. — A community is heartbroken and demanding answers after Tyieshia McDowell, a 47-year-old woman from Florissant, tragically lost her life following a shooting at a Gulf gas station in the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood on the evening of Thursday, July 31, 2025.
At approximately 9:15 p.m., St. Louis Metropolitan Police responded to a call for a shooting in the 5700 block of Natural Bridge Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman inside a parked vehicle on the gas station lot, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was unconscious but still breathing.
Emergency Medical Services quickly arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where she was listed in critical and unstable condition. Due to the severity of her injuries, the case was turned over to the department’s Homicide Division.
