Educated at St Paul’s College, Raheny, Fitzpatrick’s rugby journey began at the grassroots level. His formidable presence on the field quickly became evident, leading him to play for Dublin University, where he was part of the team that clinched the Leinster Senior Cup in 1976. His prowess as a tighthead prop set the stage for a distinguished career in rugby.
International Career
Fitzpatrick’s international debut came in 1978 against Scotland, marking the start of a decade-long tenure with the Ireland national rugby union team.
