In Loving Memory of Xavier Alexander – “Duval / Duvie / Alex Kydd”

My name is Patricia, but if you’ve known me since I was a little girl, then you probably know me as Chipps. Today, I come to you with a heart full of sorrow and a spirit weighed down by grief as I share the devastating news of the loss of someone who meant the world to me and our family. On April 3rd at 1:30 a.m., our beloved Xavier Alexander—known by many as Duval, Duvie, or Alex Kydd—was tragically taken from us due to gun violence.

To me, Duvie was so much more than a cousin—he was my cousin-dad, a role he embraced with love, laughter, and a fierce sense of protection. He was the kind of person who made his presence felt the moment he entered a room, not because he was loud, but because his energy was magnetic. Whether you called him Xavier, Duvie, Duval, or Alex Kydd, one thing was always the same—his loyalty to his family and the love he had for his daughters.

Xavier leaves behind a large circle of family and friends who are heartbroken by his sudden passing. Most importantly, he leaves behind two beautiful daughters, who were the light of his life and now face a future without their father’s guiding hand. We are committed to making sure they continue to feel his love and presence, even though he is no longer physically with us.

In the midst of this heartbreak, we are reaching out to the community for support. We are currently raising funds to give Duvie the home-going celebration he deserves—one filled with honor, respect, and love. Additionally, the funds will help support his daughters during this incredibly difficult time. If you’re able to donate, please know that no amount is too small. And if you can’t give financially, your prayers and sharing of the fundraiser are equally powerful and deeply appreciated.

This loss is not just ours—it is a reminder of the violence that continues to steal lives far too soon. Xavier’s death has left a hole in our hearts, but his memory, his laughter, and his love will live on in all of us who were blessed to know him.

We thank you for standing with us during this painful chapter. Hold your loved ones close, speak kindness often, and remember Xavier “Duval” Alexander for the love he gave and the life he lived.

Rest in power, Duvie.
You are missed beyond words, and loved beyond measure.
