In Loving Memory of Wendy Kobyluck Cherished, Loved, and Never Forgotten

With heavy hearts, we remember Wendy Kobyluck, age 56, of Orrville, who lost her life in a two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Lorain County. The collision occurred around 6:40 a.m. near Foster Road in Penfield Township, where first responders arrived following reports of a serious crash. Despite their efforts, Wendy was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened when a Chevrolet Silverado traveling on Foster Road failed to yield at a stop sign and entered the path of Wendy’s Honda HR-V, which was traveling along State Route 18. The 59-year-old male driver of the truck was seriously injured and transported by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center. Wendy, who was wearing her seatbelt at the time, did not survive the impact.

But the story of Wendy’s life is not the story of this crash. She was a woman with a full world — with people who loved her, places she belonged, routines and responsibilities she carried, and moments of kindness and laughter that shaped the lives around her. Her absence will be felt in everyday places: in quiet mornings, in familiar rooms, in conversations once taken for granted.

Losing someone so suddenly brings with it a particular kind of grief: there is no warning, no time to prepare, just a before and an after. In that painful divide, memories become treasures held tightly by those she leaves behind. They will remember the way she spoke, the steadiness of her presence, the warmth she brought into their lives, and the countless small ways she made the world better simply by being in it.

As investigators continue their work, our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Wendy’s family, friends, co-workers, and all who are now grieving her loss. May they be surrounded by compassion in this difficult time. May they find comfort in one another and strength in the love she leaves behind.

In loving memory of Wendy Kobyluck
A life taken too soon, but a life that mattered deeply, and a name that will be spoken with love for years to come.
