In Loving Memory of “Squishy Do” Gone Too Soon, Forever Loved
The Reddick community, along with family and friends near and far, is mourning an unimaginable tragedy following a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on the night of Thursday, October 30, 2025. Among those whose lives were tragically taken was someone affectionately known as “Squishy Do”—a beloved soul whose presence brought joy, laughter, and love into the lives of everyone who knew them. The heartbreak of this loss is immeasurable, made even more devastating by the young age and bright life cut short.
At approximately 10:20 p.m., Kankakee County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a crash near the intersection of 18000 West and 2000 South Road in Reddick, Illinois. When they arrived, one of the vehicles involved was engulfed in flames. Despite quick response efforts, all four individuals involved in the collision—two in each vehicle, including a 5-year-old child—were tragically pronounced deceased at the scene. While the details of the investigation continue, the emotional weight of the loss cannot be expressed in words.
“Squishy Do” was known for a smile that could warm the coldest day and a personality that lit up every room entered. Whether sharing laughter with family, playing joyfully with friends, or simply being present, there was a light within them that radiated pure innocence, joy, and love. The nickname “Squishy Do” alone speaks to a life rooted in affection—a name given not out of habit, but from deep, sincere love.
This precious life was full of curiosity, wonder, and joy. The world was big and exciting, and every day offered something new to explore. They loved freely, laughed loudly, and loved wholly—because children do not know how to love any other way.
