In Loving Memory of Scott Dunnett: A Beloved Father, Husband, Friend, and Coach

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we share the passing of Scott Dunnett, a cherished member of the TYSA (Tewksbury Youth Soccer Association) family, beloved father, husband, friend, and coach. Scott’s sudden departure leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of all who knew him, especially within the TYSA community where he played an instrumental role in nurturing young athletes and fostering a sense of community.

A Legacy of Dedication and Service

For many years, Scott and his family have been devoted supporters of TYSA, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to the organization and to the development of young soccer players. As a coach, Scott’s influence reached far beyond the soccer field. His dedication to the sport, to the youth he coached, and to his family created a ripple effect of positivity, inspiration, and growth within the TYSA community.

Most recently, Scott coached his daughter’s Bantam team, imparting not only his knowledge of soccer but also his values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. His ability to connect with athletes of all ages and inspire them to be their best was a testament to his passion for the game and his love for his community. Scott’s coaching wasn’t just about teaching soccer — it was about mentoring young players, encouraging them to grow both on and off the field.

Honoring Scott Dunnett

In honor of Scott’s memory, TYSA invites the entire community to join in a special tribute tonight, Sunday, September 14th, at 8:45 p.m. A police escort will pass through the intersection of Wildwood Street and Woburn Street in Wilmington in honor of Scott, providing an opportunity for the community to come together and pay their respects.

TYSA athletes are encouraged to wear their jerseys as a symbol of solidarity and support for Scott and his family during this incredibly difficult time. Parking will be available at the nearby elementary school, and those attending are asked to be respectful of the space and of each other as we come together to remember Scott.

A Family and Community in Grief

Scott’s loss is deeply felt not only by his family but also by the many friends, colleagues, and community members who were touched by his kindness, generosity, and spirit. He was a loving father, a devoted husband, and a loyal friend. His presence brightened every room he entered, and his absence leaves a profound silence.

To his wife and children, Scott’s love was unwavering. He was a constant source of support, guidance, and strength — a true family man who always put the needs of his loved ones first. His relationship with his daughter, whom he coached, was a reflection of the deep bond they shared, and it is a memory that will remain with her for the rest of her life.

Respecting the Family’s Privacy

During this heartbreaking time, we ask that you please keep Scott Dunnett and the Dunnett family in your hearts and prayers. They are navigating a tremendous loss, and we know that your thoughts of love and support will help them through this incredibly difficult time. We also kindly ask that you respect the family’s privacy as they grieve, allowing them the time and space they need to heal.

Moving Forward with Gratitude and Remembrance

As we reflect on the life of Scott Dunnett, we are reminded of the importance of family, community, and the lasting impact one individual can have. Scott’s legacy will live on in the athletes he mentored, the lives he touched, and the family he loved. While our hearts are broken, we know that Scott’s spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.

We invite everyone to come together tonight to honor Scott, show support for his family, and reflect on the countless ways he made our community a better place. His memory will forever live in the hearts of his family, his friends, and the TYSA community.
