In Loving Memory of Richard Carlisle
A Pioneer, Leader, and Beloved Member of the ABC Arkansas Family
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Carlisle of Northwest Fire Protection, a highly respected figure and deeply cherished member of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Arkansas family. Richard passed away leaving behind a legacy of excellence, leadership, and integrity that shaped not only his own company but also the very foundation of our construction and contracting community.
For an extraordinary 46 years, Richard was a devoted member of ABC Arkansas — nearly half a century of unwavering commitment to advancing our industry, mentoring future leaders, and setting the gold standard for professional conduct. His dedication and service earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues across the state and beyond. He wasn’t just a member — he was a pillar, a trusted voice, and one of the true pioneers who helped elevate and strengthen our organization and the broader construction field.
A Legacy Built on Integrity and Innovation
Richard’s work at Northwest Fire Protection reflected his deep knowledge, tireless work ethic, and relentless pursuit of quality and safety. He was known throughout the industry as someone who demanded excellence not just from others, but also from himself. Over the years, he earned a reputation for being reliable, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven — someone who could be counted on in the most critical situations.
He was also a visionary, always looking ahead to how fire protection systems could be improved, how job sites could be made safer, and how teams could work more cohesively. His influence extended far beyond his own projects, inspiring better practices across the industry and leaving behind a lasting impact on how we build, protect, and serve.
A Mentor and Friend
Beyond the technical knowledge and leadership he brought to the field, Richard was a mentor and friend to many. He had a genuine heart for people — taking the time to mentor young professionals, offer guidance to peers, and invest in relationships that extended far beyond the job site. He believed in lifting others up, and so many of us benefited from his wisdom, kindness, and encouragement.
To work with Richard was to know his sharp mind, his dry humor, his steady presence, and above all, his deep care for the people and teams around him. He was always willing to lend a listening ear or a helping hand, and his absence will be felt deeply by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Life Remembered and Honored
As we reflect on Richard Carlisle’s remarkable life and career, we celebrate the legacy he leaves behind — one built not just on projects completed or years served, but on lives impacted, standards elevated, and communities made safer and stronger.
His contributions to ABC Arkansas will never be forgotten. In every safety protocol, in every mentoring conversation, in every high-performing team built on trust and excellence — Richard’s fingerprints remain.
