In Loving Memory of Peter Glover
10th May 2025
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved colleague and friend, Peter Glover, who left us on the 10th of May, 2025. Peter’s loss has deeply affected all of us at Day Lewis, where he was not only a respected professional but also a cherished member of our extended family for an incredible 37 years.
Peter began his journey with Day Lewis in June 1987, joining us as a Pharmacist. From the very beginning, it was evident that Peter brought with him an exceptional blend of dedication, integrity, and warmth. Over the decades, he made an indelible mark on our organisation, playing a pivotal role in shaping our professional culture and operational excellence.
Throughout his distinguished career, Peter took on a wide range of roles, consistently demonstrating leadership, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the highest standards of care. One of his most notable positions was as Group Superintendent Pharmacist, a role in which he exemplified clinical excellence and responsible stewardship. He later became a core member of our Senior Management Team, where his insights and leadership helped guide the direction of the business through many phases of growth and change.
In recent years, Peter transitioned into a Professional Services Advisory role. True to his nature, he embraced this new chapter not as a step back, but as an opportunity to mentor, support, and elevate those around him. He was always generous with his time and wisdom, taking great pride in supporting both long-standing team members and newly joined colleagues. His door was always open, and he was a steady hand and trusted voice for so many.
Peter’s contributions extended far beyond Day Lewis. He was a respected figure in the wider pharmacy industry, admired by peers and professionals across the sector for his extensive knowledge, ethical standards, and commitment to patient care. His voice carried weight because it was always guided by experience, compassion, and a genuine desire to do what was right.
But Peter was much more than his professional accolades. He was a friend, a mentor, and a source of inspiration. Those who had the privilege of working with him speak of his calm presence, his thoughtful approach, and his unwavering sense of humour—even in challenging times. He had the rare ability to uplift others, to listen deeply, and to lead with both intellect and heart.
The legacy Peter leaves behind is immeasurable. It lives in the lives of the countless patients he served, in the careers he helped shape, and in the enduring impact he made on the culture and spirit of Day Lewis. He will be sorely missed by all who had the honour of knowing him.
Our deepest thoughts, prayers, and sympathies are with Peter’s family, loved ones, and friends during this incredibly difficult time. As we come to terms with his loss, we will honour his memory by continuing the work he cared so deeply about—with integrity, with compassion, and with the same dedication he showed every single day.
Rest in peace, Peter. You will always be remembered, and forever missed.
