Officer Stainback, who was recently sworn into the Concord Police Department (CPD), tragically lost his life Saturday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle while on a bike ride with his wife. This heartbreaking loss has left both his family and the CPD family grieving, as the community mourns the death of a dedicated public servant and a man with a bright future ahead of him.
A Promising Officer and a Dedicated Family Man
Gabriel Stainback was sworn in as an officer with the Concord Police Department in December 2024. His journey with the department began after being hired as a cadet, where he successfully completed the Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program. His passion for serving his community was evident from the start, and he quickly earned the respect of his colleagues.
Officer Stainback’s dedication to public service was matched by his devotion to his family. He had recently married and was looking forward to building a future with his wife, full of love and hope. His sudden and tragic passing has left a deep sense of loss not only within the department but also in the hearts of those who knew him personally.
A Life Cut Short
The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon, as Officer Stainback and his wife were enjoying a peaceful bike ride together. Tragically, while riding, he was struck by a vehicle. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead.
