In Loving Memory of Morena Jeaneth Castillo – A Cherished Life Remembered

ROANOKE RAPIDS, NC — With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we share the passing of Morena Jeaneth Castillo, who departed this world on April 20, 2025, at the age of 43. Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her loved ones and in the community she quietly and compassionately touched.

Morena was more than a beloved daughter, mother, and grandmother—she was a guiding light for those fortunate enough to know her. Known for her warmth, humility, and unwavering love, she lived a life rooted in devotion to her family, faith, and the values of kindness and resilience. Her presence radiated comfort, and her wisdom, shared through quiet words and selfless acts, will be forever remembered.

Though her time was tragically cut short, Morena’s legacy lives on in the lives she nurtured and the hearts she touched. Her children and grandchildren—whom she cherished beyond measure—remain the greatest testament to her strength and love. She was the kind of person who could light up a room with her smile, who offered a listening ear without judgment, and who gave endlessly of herself to ensure those around her felt safe, supported, and loved.

Morena’s passing has left her family and friends enveloped in grief, yet also surrounded by the love she so effortlessly gave throughout her life. Those who knew her speak of a woman who faced life’s challenges with courage and grace—someone who showed compassion to strangers, loyalty to her loved ones, and endless affection to her grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Abuela.”

She took joy in the little things—preparing a warm meal for her family, sitting on the porch in the early evening, or singing softly while tending to her home. These simple, beautiful moments are now treasured memories for those left behind.

To honor her life and legacy, a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service in Roanoke Rapids. Family, friends, and community members are invited to attend and celebrate the life of a woman who meant so much to so many. The service will be a reflection of the love she gave, the strength she demonstrated, and the faith that sustained her.

As we say goodbye to Morena Jeaneth Castillo, we do so with broken hearts but also with gratitude—for the time we had with her, for the lessons she taught us, and for the enduring light she leaves behind. Her spirit will live on in the laughter of her grandchildren, the values instilled in her children, and the love that continues to ripple through generations.

To all those grieving this loss, may the memory of Morena bring comfort and peace. In times of sorrow, let us hold tightly to the love she gave so freely, and may her legacy continue to inspire kindness, strength, and unity in those she leaves behind.

Rest in eternal peace, Morena. You will never be forgotten.
