On that fateful afternoon, firefighters responded to a trailer fire at the Riverdale Manufactured Home Community located at 1050 W. 5100 South. Inside the trailer, they discovered Mayra unresponsive, with severe burn marks and a puncture wound to her neck. Despite efforts to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigations revealed that the fire was intentionally set using an accelerant, and Mayra’s partner, Ricardo Trujillo Rojel, 29, was identified as the primary suspect. An Amber Alert was issued when Mayra’s children were found missing, but they were safely located hours later.
