With broken hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Kharis McGee, who departed this world on July 25, 2025, at the tender age of 22. A beloved daughter, sibling, friend, and shining light to all who had the privilege of knowing her, Kharis’s sudden passing has left a void that words cannot fill. Yet in our grief, we are comforted by the beauty of her memory, and the joy, grace, and love she brought into so many lives.
Born and raised in Waxhaw, North Carolina, Kharis was known for her vibrant spirit, her compassionate heart, and her remarkable ability to make others feel seen, heard, and loved. Whether it was through a warm smile, an encouraging word, or an infectious laugh that could light up an entire room, Kharis had a way of lifting those around her. She lived each day with intention — full of kindness, curiosity, and courage.
Kharis’s strength of character was reflected in every part of her life. She was a source of strength to her family, a loyal and steadfast friend, and an inspiration to many. Her dedication to her community, her faith, and her passions made her a young woman beyond her years. She had dreams that soared and a heart that was always open — to growth, to giving, and to grace.

A visitation and memorial service for Kharis McGee will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the New Living Word Discipleship Worship Center. The gathering will begin with visitation, followed by a celebration of life ceremony, where family and friends will come together to honor, remember, and celebrate the beautiful soul that was Kharis. Attendees are encouraged to share memories and stories that capture her essence — her faith, her kindness, her dreams, and her light.
As we gather to say goodbye, we do so with profound love and gratitude for the time we shared. Though we mourn her loss, we rejoice in knowing that Kharis’s spirit will continue to shine brightly through the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely. She has left this earthly realm, but she will never leave our hearts.
