SEAFORD, DE — A devastating tragedy unfolded on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at approximately 4:28 p.m., when a serious two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Coverdale Road and Hastings Farm Road in Seaford, Delaware. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 6-year-old Keydan Garcia-Garcia of Bridgeville, who passed away on August 1, five days after the accident.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, as the community mourns the unimaginable loss of a young child whose life had just begun.

The Crash

According to preliminary reports, a Toyota Corolla was traveling south on Coverdale Road when the driver failed to stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection with Hastings Farm Road. Simultaneously, a Toyota Tundra, operated by a 45-year-old man from Georgetown, was traveling eastbound on Hastings Farm Road and collided with the passenger side of the Corolla in a devastating T-bone impact.

Inside the Corolla was Keydan Garcia-Garcia, who had been seated in the rear. Despite first responders rushing to the scene and providing immediate care, Keydan sustained critical injuries that proved too severe. He tragically succumbed to those injuries on August 1.

Also injured in the crash were:

  • The 44-year-old female driver of the Corolla, from Bridgeville, who was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

  • A 15-year-old girl, also from Bridgeville and seated in the front passenger seat, who was hospitalized in critical condition.

  • The driver of the Toyota Tundra, who declined medical transport.

Authorities confirm the investigation is still active and ongoing, and they are asking for any witnesses to come forward. Senior Corporal J. Smith can be reached at 302-703-3267 with relevant information.
