In Loving Memory of Karri Nash — A Life Cut Short in a Tragic Highway Accident

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the untimely and devastating loss of Karri Nash, a beloved member of the Billings community, who tragically lost her life on Sunday, July 20, 2025, in a fatal accident along Highway 212 near Roberts, Montana. At just 51 years old, Karri’s sudden passing has left her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched in profound grief.

A Tragic Accident on Montana’s Highway 212

At approximately 2:14 p.m., Karri was enjoying the open road, riding her Harley-Davidson FXSB Breakout, a passion that reflected her free spirit and love of life. What began as an ordinary summer afternoon ride turned into an unimaginable tragedy.

According to the report from Carbon County Sheriff and Coroner Josh McQuillan, a Toyota 4Runner, driven by a 68-year-old woman from Billings, was traveling northbound on US Highway 212 when a deer darted into the roadway. The collision with the animal caused the airbags of the Toyota to deploy unexpectedly. In the chaos that followed, the vehicle veered across the centerline into the southbound lane — directly into the path of Karri’s motorcycle.

The impact was catastrophic. Both the vehicle and the motorcycle veered off the east side of the road. Karri Nash was ejected from her bike and tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Despite the rapid response from Montana Highway Patrol, the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, Joliet Fire/EMS, Roberts Volunteer Fire Department, and Red Lodge Fire Rescue, nothing could be done to save her.
