In Loving Memory of Kailyn Howard
With heavy hearts, the Carroll High School PTO joins our Charger community in mourning the devastating loss of Kailyn Howard. Her passing has left an unfillable void in the hearts of her family, friends, classmates, teachers, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. In times like this, words can feel inadequate, yet we come together to share in the sorrow, to lift one another up, and to honor the life of a young person who meant so much to so many.
Kailyn was a cherished part of the Carroll community. Her smile, her laughter, and her spirit brightened the halls of the school and the lives of those she touched. Friends remember her kindness and the way she could lift someone’s mood simply by being present. Teachers admired her dedication and her gentle, respectful nature. Her family and loved ones knew her best as a daughter, a friend, and a source of love and light — someone whose presence brought warmth into every room she entered.
This tragic loss reminds us of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing the moments we share together. As a community, the Charger family is strongest when united, and in this time of grief, it is essential that we lean on one another for comfort and support.
The Carroll High School administration and PTO are encouraging students, parents, and staff to take advantage of the resources being provided. Counselors and support staff are available to help guide students and families through this painful time, offering a safe space to share feelings, process grief, and begin the journey of healing. We encourage everyone in our community not to grieve alone, but to come together in compassion — whether it is through shared memories, quiet conversations, or simple acts of kindness extended to one another.
To Kailyn’s family, please know that you are surrounded by love. Our thoughts, our prayers, and our deepest sympathies are with you as you navigate this unimaginable loss. The Carroll PTO, along with the broader Charger community, stands firmly with you, honoring Kailyn’s memory and walking with you in your grief.
As we remember Kailyn, let us carry her spirit forward. Let us celebrate the joy she brought into this world and the many ways she touched the lives around her. May her memory inspire us to live with the same kindness and light that she shared so freely.
Together, as a family of students, parents, staff, and community members, we will mourn, we will remember, and we will heal. Though Kailyn’s life ended far too soon, her legacy will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Rest in peace, Kailyn. You will always be a part of the Charger family.
