Billingsley, AL — The community is heartbroken following the tragic loss of 54-year-old Jessica Fortenberry, who passed away early Monday morning as the result of a single-vehicle crash in Chilton County. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that the accident occurred on Chilton County Road 37, just two miles southwest of Clanton.
Jessica was riding as a passenger in a van when the vehicle suddenly left the roadway and collided with a tree. The force of the impact caused her to be ejected from the vehicle. Despite the efforts of first responders, she was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was also injured and transported to UAB Hospital for medical treatment. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
