In Loving Memory of Jason Edward Kelly
December 7, 1975 – June 9, 2025

With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Jason Edward Kelly, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and cherished friend, who departed this world on June 9, 2025, at the age of 49. Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Jason lived a life full of purpose, family, and faith. His presence touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him, and his absence leaves an irreplaceable void.

Jason was the beloved son of the late Billy Kelly and Brenda Wyatt, and the devoted brother of the late Leigh Ann Maddox Swiney, all of whom he now joins in eternal peace. Though his earthly journey has ended, the love he gave and the lessons he imparted live on through those who survive him.

He leaves behind his three adoring children, each a reflection of his strength, character, and compassion: Tabatha Wells (Tyler) of West Blocton, Chase Kelly (Brittany) of Green River, Wyoming, and Hunter Kelly of Akron. Jason was a proud and devoted grandfather to Jaxon Wells, Samuel Wells, Thomas Kelly, and Allie Rae Kelly—his “four little lights” who brought immense joy and pride into his life. There was no role he treasured more than being “Paw Paw,” and he poured every ounce of love into his grandchildren, creating memories they will hold in their hearts forever.

Jason is also survived by his brother, Adam Maddox (Regina) of Fosters, Alabama. Their bond was one of shared childhoods, brotherly loyalty, and a lifetime of memories that will continue to bring comfort in the days ahead.

A man of enduring faith, Jason was a faithful member of The Church at Tuscaloosa (TCAT). His spiritual life was not just a practice but a foundation—guiding how he treated others, raised his family, and faced life’s trials. Jason’s unwavering belief in God was a source of strength for him and an inspiration to those who knew him.

Outside of his deep love for family and faith, Jason had an unshakable connection to the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were not merely pastimes—they were passions that brought him peace and clarity. He found joy in quiet mornings by the water, the thrill of the hunt, and the shared stories around campfires. Nature was his sanctuary, and it reflected the calm, centered spirit he carried with him.

Jason’s legacy is one of kindness, resilience, laughter, and love. His warm smile, booming laugh, and gentle soul made everyone feel welcome and seen. He had a gift for lifting others up, reminding us to live fully and love fiercely. Though his time here was too short, the impact he made will echo for generations through his children, grandchildren, and everyone blessed by his friendship.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Jason’s remarkable journey on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Liberty Baptist Church in Hale County. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance, to share stories, laughter, and tears, and to celebrate a life lived with depth, courage, and compassion.

As we bid farewell to Jason Edward Kelly, may we carry his memory as a beacon of love and hope. Let us remember him as a man who never wavered in his love for his family, his faith in God, or his joy in simple pleasures. May his soul rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who went before him, and may his legacy shine on in all who loved him.

Rest well, Jason. You will never be forgotten.
