In Loving Memory of Ja’Quan Nolan Gone too soon, but forever remembered
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we share the tragic passing of Ja’Quan Nolan, age 17, who was fatally shot outside the Forest Park Apartments in Nashville, Tennessee, on Saturday night, October 18, 2025. His sudden and senseless loss has left his family, friends, and the entire community heartbroken and searching for comfort in the wake of such unimaginable tragedy.
Ja’Quan was a bright, caring, and full-of-life young man, known for his big heart and even bigger dreams. At just 17 years old, he had a future full of promise — a future he was working hard to build with determination, optimism, and courage. Those who knew him describe him as respectful, kind, and full of energy — the kind of young man who could make anyone smile and who always had a positive word for everyone around him.
He was deeply loved by his family, who remember him as a loving son, brother, and friend. Whether he was spending time with his loved ones, joking around with friends, or offering help to someone in need, Ja’Quan lived his life with compassion and generosity beyond his years. His laughter was contagious, his spirit uplifting, and his heart open to all.
Ja’Quan attended local schools in the Nashville area, where he was admired by teachers and classmates alike. He loved sports, music, and spending time with his close circle of friends. He dreamed of doing great things — of building a life that made his family proud and creating a future filled with hope and purpose. Sadly, that bright future was taken away far too soon.
The community of Nashville now grieves the loss of a young man who had so much to give and so much more to experience. A candlelight vigil is being planned to honor Ja’Quan’s memory and to bring together those whose lives he touched.
