In Loving Memory of Investigator Mico Davis
Grayson County Sheriff’s Office | End of Watch: April 11, 2025
It is with profound sorrow and reverence that the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) announces the passing of one of its most dedicated public servants, Investigator Mico Davis, who left us far too soon on Friday, April 11, 2025. His loss is deeply felt throughout the law enforcement community and far beyond, as friends, family, and colleagues come together to honor a life of unwavering service, quiet strength, and deep compassion.
Mico Davis served the citizens of Grayson County with honor and integrity for 12 dedicated years, wearing the badge not only as a duty but as a calling. His law enforcement journey saw him thrive in various roles—from School Resource Officer to Patrol Deputy, and most recently as a respected Investigator. In every position, Mico displayed a tireless commitment to justice, safety, and the well-being of those he was sworn to protect.
A Career Marked by Service and Dedication
Throughout his years with GCSO, Mico obtained numerous certifications, commendations, and accolades that reflected both his professional excellence and his passion for his work. But perhaps more than awards, it was his character, humility, and unshakable dedication that earned him the respect of his peers and the gratitude of the community.
Mico understood the weight of the badge—the responsibility, the risks, the emotional toll. He bore it with courage and grace, often serving quietly behind the scenes, making a difference in ways that most will never see or fully understand. Whether supporting students as a resource officer, responding to emergencies in the field, or investigating difficult cases, he did so with heart, empathy, and a steadfast sense of duty.
A Heavy Loss for a Law Enforcement Family
The impact of Mico’s passing cannot be overstated. In law enforcement, every shift is a bond forged through shared experiences—some joyful, many painful. The tragedy and trauma that come with the job are often unseen by the outside world. Yet, Mico, like so many who serve, showed up every day, willing to stand in the gap, even amid hardship and scrutiny.
As we grieve this tremendous loss, our department is leaning on one another, supported by law enforcement crisis counselors and the strength of a brotherhood and sisterhood that spans across counties and departments. We mourn not just the loss of a fellow deputy but of a son, father, brother, and cherished friend.
Honoring a Life That Mattered
Investigator Davis deserves to be remembered not by the sorrow of his passing, but by the light he brought into our lives. His laughter, his kindness, his mentorship, and his tireless work ethic made him a role model to many—especially young officers following in his footsteps.
To know Mico was to know a man of strong faith, deep love for his family, and an unwavering sense of right and wrong. His name and memory will forever hold a place of honor within the walls of the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and in the hearts of all who served beside him.
A Final Farewell
As the community prepares to say goodbye, we ask for your continued prayers and support for Mico’s family, his children, his friends, and the entire GCSO family. This loss is a shared grief, and we find comfort in the love and respect pouring in from near and far.
Rest easy, Unit 407. Your watch has ended, but your legacy endures.
We’ll take it from here.
May God bless and keep forevermore this brave and beautiful soul.
Gone too soon, never forgotten.
