In Loving Memory of Craig W. Lowry Milwaukee, Wisconsin

PRAIRIE DU SAC, Wis. — With heavy hearts, the Sauk County community, along with friends and loved ones across Milwaukee and beyond, mourn the tragic loss of 45-year-old Craig W. Lowry, who passed away following a devastating two-vehicle crash on WIS 60 near Prairie du Sac earlier this week.

On Monday evening, at approximately 5:40 p.m., the Sauk County Communications Center received reports of a collision near the intersection of Ferry Bluff Road. Authorities arrived to find that a westbound Subaru, driven by a 70-year-old man from Seattle, attempted to pass a semi-truck and entered the eastbound lane, colliding with the Ford sedan Craig was driving. Craig tragically passed away at the scene from his injuries. The Subaru’s driver was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. The crash led to the closure of both directions of WIS 60 from CTH B to CTH O until just after 9:00 p.m., as investigators worked to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Craig’s passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of those who knew him. He was a man who carried kindness in his heart and approached life with sincerity and warmth. Known for his steady presence and his willingness to lend a hand, Craig touched the lives of many through his compassion, strength of character, and dedication to the people he cared about.

His family, friends, and community members remember him not only for how he lived, but for how he made others feel—seen, supported, and valued. Whether sharing laughter during good times, offering comfort during hard ones, or simply being a dependable presence in the lives of others, Craig lived a life that demonstrated the quiet but powerful strength of love and connection.

Craig had a genuine appreciation for life’s simple moments—time shared with loved ones, meaningful conversations, and the everyday joys that make life beautiful. He worked hard, loved deeply, and carried himself with humility and grace. To his family, he was a source of love and stability. To his friends, he was loyal and true. And to his community, he was a reminder of the impact that kindness can leave behind.

The loss of Craig is profound and deeply felt, and although his passing came far too soon, his memory will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew him best. The lessons he taught through example—be patient, give generously, care deeply—live on.

As the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash, we honor Craig by holding close to the memories, moments, and love he shared. Though he is no longer here in body, the legacy of his spirit will forever remain.

Rest in peace, Craig W. Lowry.

Your life was a blessing to so many.

Your absence is heart-breaking.

Your memory will live on—always.
