For the past five years, Clay was an essential part of nearly every major homicide prosecution that came through our office. His contribution to our team was not simply in the cases he worked, but in the standard he set. Clay redefined what it meant to be an investigator within a district attorney’s office. His attention to detail, tireless work ethic, and ability to bring clarity to even the most complex cases earned him admiration across the state. It came as no surprise to any of us when he was honored as Investigator of the Year for the State of Georgia, a recognition that reflected not only his skill but also the respect he earned among his peers.
Clay’s professional excellence was matched only by the quality of his character. He was deeply respected by law enforcement officers, defense attorneys, judges, and colleagues alike.
