In Loving Memory of Besim Brady Muminovic (2003 – 2025) “Gone too soon, but never forgotten.”
The Brooklyn community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Besim Brady Muminovic, a vibrant and beloved young man whose life was tragically cut short in a devastating motorcycle accident late Sunday night. Besim, only 22 years old, passed away after a collision involving a white Mercedes Benz sedan while exiting the westbound ramp of the Belt Parkway in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn.
According to the New York Police Department, the crash occurred just after 11:30 p.m., when both the motorcycle and sedan were traveling at a high rate of speed as they exited the parkway. The impact was so severe that the Mercedes flipped over, striking three parked cars. Despite efforts by first responders, Besim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was sadly pronounced deceased.
A 28-year-old passenger from the sedan, who was critically injured, was transported to the same hospital but later succumbed to their injuries. The driver of the Mercedes fled the scene on foot and is currently being sought by police, leaving behind heartbreak, unanswered questions, and a grieving community searching for justice.
Residents of the area describe the stretch of the Belt Parkway as a spot frequently plagued by speeding and reckless driving. “If you’re ever outside late at night, you can hear the engines flying by,” said one witness, Stephen Livshits, who was visiting family nearby. “They go nuts on the Belt sometimes on this stretch.” Unfortunately, this all-too-common recklessness has now claimed another promising life.
Those who knew Besim Brady Muminovic remember him as a passionate, kindhearted, and spirited young man with a love for adventure and a deep appreciation for life. He was known for his charisma, his easygoing nature, and the way he could light up any room he entered. Friends describe him as loyal and genuine—a young man who cared deeply for the people around him and lived every moment with intensity and purpose.
Besim’s love for motorcycles was well-known among his circle of friends. It was not just a hobby but an expression of freedom and identity—something that brought him joy, peace, and connection. He respected the road, and while his life ended doing what he loved, the tragedy serves as a somber reminder of how fragile life can be and how quickly it can change in an instant.
Family and friends are devastated by his loss, remembering him as a son, brother, and friend whose potential and spirit will forever remain etched in their hearts. His laughter, his energy, and his kindness will continue to inspire all who were blessed to have known him. Besim’s memory will live on not only in the stories told by those who loved him but also in the community that now stands united in grief, determined to honor his life and legacy.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and urging anyone with information about the hit-and-run driver to come forward. As the search for justice continues, loved ones are finding comfort in coming together to celebrate the beautiful life that Besim lived.
