In Loving Memory of Ashton Oseth

In Loving Memory of Ashton Oseth

In the early morning quiet of October 25th, 2025, tragedy struck Chisago City in a moment that changed countless lives forever. At approximately 1:58 a.m., Chisago County Dispatch received an automated crash notification near Stacy Trail and Ivywood Trail. When officers and deputies arrived, they discovered a severe two-vehicle head-on collision—one that would leave a community heartbroken and searching for strength.

In one of the vehicles, a 2014 Toyota Camry, were three teenagers: a 14-year-old driver and two 15-year-old passengers. Among them was Ashton Oseth, a young life full of promise, laughter, and love. Ashton tragically passed away at the scene due to his injuries. His passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family, his friends, and everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

The other occupants in the Camry sustained serious injuries, with one airlifted to Regions Hospital and the other transported there by ambulance. The second vehicle involved, a 2000 Toyota 4-Runner, was driven by a 17-year-old with an 18-year-old passenger. Both were also injured, with the driver being flown to Regions Hospital and the passenger transported to HCMC for urgent care.

Authorities located alcohol at the scene, and it may have been a factor in the crash—a painful reminder of how fragile life is, how quickly everything can change, and how important it is to protect one another, especially our youth.

While investigations continue and officials work to understand the full circumstances, one truth has already become painfully clear: a beautiful, cherished life has been taken far too soon.

Remembering Ashton

Ashton was the kind of person who left an unforgettable mark wherever he went. He carried a light within him—gentle, warm, and full of life. Those who knew him speak of his kindness, his humor, and his ability to make others feel included and valued. He was a son, a sibling, a friend, a teammate, a classmate—someone who brought joy to ordinary moments and whose presence made life brighter.

He had dreams—big ones. Plans for the future, goals he was excited to reach, and a heart ready to grow and discover the world. His passing is not just the loss of who he was, but of all the beautiful things he was meant to become.

The grief felt now is deep and heavy. But the love Ashton gave—freely, openly, and naturally—remains. It lives in the memories shared, the laughter echoed, and the impact he had on the lives around him.

The Community Stands Together

In the wake of this tragedy, the community of Chisago City has united in support: comforting one another, praying for the healing of the injured, and holding Ashton’s family close in love and strength. First responders, medical staff, neighbors, friends, teachers, and families have all felt the weight of this loss.

Responding agencies included the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office, Chisago City Fire Department, Stacy-Lent Fire Department, Lakes Region EMS, M-Health, and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office. Their tireless efforts in the face of devastating scenes are deeply appreciated.

Forever in Our Hearts

As we honor Ashton’s memory, may we carry forward his kindness, his laughter, his love.

May we cherish our moments more deeply.

May we care for one another more fiercely.

May we remember how precious and fragile life truly is.
