On the evening of Thursday, September 11, 2025, Galveston police responded to a deadly shooting at a residence in the 5100 block of Avenue Q. Officers were dispatched to the home shortly before 8 p.m. following reports that a person had been shot multiple times.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel quickly transported her to the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) emergency room, where she was later pronounced dead.
The victim has since been identified as 34-year-old Tiamoya Moore. A firearm was also located at the residence, according to officials.
While investigators processed the scene, witnesses informed officers that the suspected shooter might have been the victim’s 16-year-old daughter, who was not present when police first arrived.
