Mathiston, Miss. — Rangers with the Natchez Trace Parkway are continuing their investigation into a tragic single-vehicle accident that claimed the life of a longtime broadcaster and former Boswell Media employee. Andy Martin, age 66, a Leake County native, died Monday night when his vehicle left the roadway near the Mathiston exit and struck a tree in the parkway median.

Authorities report that Martin’s car veered off the road before colliding with the tree. Despite immediate emergency response, he was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Martin was well known across central Mississippi for his long career in radio broadcasting. Years ago, he served as the morning show host and news director for Breezy 103 — the station now recognized as Breezy 101. During his tenure at Boswell Media, Martin became a familiar and trusted voice, delivering both music and news to listeners each morning. Colleagues and community members alike recall his professionalism, warmth, and genuine connection with his audience.

Beyond the microphone, Andy Martin was remembered for his deep ties to Leake County and his passion for storytelling.
