Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash in Webster Parish Kills Two, Leaves Two Injured
MINDEN, LA – A tragic three-vehicle collision late Friday night has claimed two lives and left two others injured in Webster Parish, sending shockwaves through the small communities of Haughton and Minden. According to Louisiana State Police Troop G, the fatal crash occurred on August 1, 2025, at approximately 10:40 p.m. on U.S. Highway 80 near Barbeque Road.
The crash involved a 2017 GMC Yukon, a 2024 Kia Forte, and a 2016 Dodge Charger. Authorities say that Brian Frost, 50, of Haughton, was behind the wheel of the GMC Yukon and was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 80 for reasons that are still under investigation. At the same time, Kendrick Fisher, 45, also of Haughton, was traveling eastbound in the Kia Forte, along with a passenger. Behind them, the Dodge Charger was also heading east in the same direction.
As Frost’s Yukon entered a curve traveling the wrong way, it collided head-on with Fisher’s Kia Forte. The impact was catastrophic, causing the Yukon to overturn, and in the aftermath, the Kia was struck by the Dodge Charger.
Both Brian Frost and Kendrick Fisher, who were properly restrained, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. A passenger in the Kia, who was also properly restrained, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. The driver of the Dodge Charger suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for evaluation and care.
Community in Mourning
The double fatality has deeply affected the Haughton community, where both Frost and Fisher were well known. Family members, friends, and neighbors are now grieving the sudden and senseless loss of two lives taken in an instant.
Kendrick Fisher was described by those who knew him as a devoted father, a dedicated worker, and someone who would give the shirt off his back to help others. “Kendrick had a calm and kind soul,” one friend shared. “He loved his family fiercely and always made time for people. He did everything right that night—he was restrained, driving responsibly—and it still wasn’t enough.”
While Brian Frost was also from the Haughton area, authorities suspect impairment may have played a role in the crash. Toxicology samples were collected at the scene and have been submitted for analysis. Officials say they will wait for the results of those tests before making any further determinations.
A Sobering Reminder
In the wake of this crash, the Louisiana State Police issued a renewed warning about the dangers of driving while impaired. According to statistics, nearly half of all fatal crashes in Louisiana involve alcohol or drugs. Impairment—whether due to alcohol, drugs, fatigue, or distraction—can significantly reduce a driver’s awareness, judgment, and reaction time.
“These are not just statistics; these are people’s lives,” said a spokesperson for LSP Troop G. “This crash is a devastating example of what happens when impaired driving meets high speeds and crowded roads. While not every crash is survivable, many are preventable. We ask everyone to please make smart decisions behind the wheel.”
Authorities stress that all drivers involved were properly restrained, which likely prevented further loss of life. They remind motorists that simple safety measures—like always wearing a seatbelt, obeying speed limits, never driving under the influence, and avoiding distractions—can dramatically reduce the risk of fatal outcomes.
Investigation Ongoing
Troopers continue to investigate the events leading up to the crash. Factors such as road conditions, visibility, vehicle speed, and driver behavior will all be evaluated as part of the official crash report. The roadway was closed for several hours overnight as investigators and cleanup crews worked to document the scene and remove the wreckage.
Honoring the Victims
Family members of both victims have asked for privacy as they process the unimaginable loss. Vigils and memorial services are expected in the coming days as the Haughton and Minden communities come together in shared grief. In the meantime, local residents have begun leaving flowers and candles at the scene of the crash—a roadside tribute to two lives lost and a stark reminder of the dangers that exist on the open road.
Brian Frost and Kendrick Fisher leave behind families, loved ones, and communities forever changed by this tragedy. Their deaths mark yet another painful entry in a growing list of traffic fatalities across the state—each one a call to action for safer roads and more responsible driving.
This crash remains under investigation. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
